As an Advanced Software Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be a technical guide, contributing to the strategic vision and execution of critical software development projects. You will play a key role in shaping the technical direction of the organization, mentoring teams, and driving innovation to deliver world-class software solutions.
You will report directly to our Software Engineering Manager, and you will work out of our Clearwater, FL location. This role is eligible for hybrid work mode.
In this role, you will impact the development and delivery of complex software projects, demonstrating mastery in a variety of programming languages, development frameworks, and tools. You will conduct regular code reviews, ensuring the production of robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions. Additionally, you will tackle complex technical demands, provide creative and effective solutions, and identify opportunities for process improvement within the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
+ Development of requirements, design, and development of Navigational products and features
+ Coding in embedded real time environment with regular code reviews to ensure robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions
+ Integration, validation and operation verification of solutions
+ Development of regulatory and certification artifacts
+ Tackle complex technical demands and provide creative and effective solutions
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement within the software development lifecycle
+ Work with senior management to provide technical input into strategic planning and decision-making

YOU MUST HAVE
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
+ 6+ years of experience guiding software development projects
+ Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++ and/or ADA
+ Experience with software development tools, version control systems, and continuous integration/deployment pipelines

+ Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
+ Understanding various software development lifecycle
+ Demonstrate the ability to develop efficient and high-quality embedded software and architecture (including DeOS and GreenHills Oss)
+ Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
+ Diverse and global teaming and collaboration
+ Developed software in certified or regulated safety environments
+ Effective communicator
+ Team leadership and coordination experience
+ Can quickly analyze, incorporate and apply new information and concepts
+ Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the face of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness
+ Ability to convey subtle or complex messages clearly, as appropriate for the topic and audience
