Job Title: Lead Phlebotomist

Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: 6am - 2:30pm w/ weekend rotation

SUMMARY:
The primary role of the Lead Phlebotomist is to oversee the day-to-day training of new hires, including on call training. Prepare yearly competencies. Perform remedial training as needed. Oversee supply ordering and quality checks. Perform Phlebotomist duties as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Oversee day to day training of Phlebotomists, including on call training
+ Prepare yearly competencies and perform remedial training as needed
+ Perform quality checks for supplies as well as oversee supply ordering and budget maintenance
+ Oversee/assist operations of the Specimen Management and Client Service functions as needed
+ Assist Supervisor with special projects as needed
+ Use the Laboratory Information System to enter patient demographics (including confirming identity of patients), billing information, client information, orders for tests and appropriate comments essential to ensure complete procurement, processing, testing, reporting of results, compliance and billing.
+ Execute venipuncture procedure including heel stick and finger stick techniques according to physician orders and applicable to regulations, policies and procedures to ensure complete and accurate specimens for testing.
+ Adhere to established safety guidelines inclusive of the use of appropriate equipment and practices.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ PBT (ASCP) certification preferred.
+ Exceptional communication skills and professional behavior preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
+ One (1) year of phlebotomy experience required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
