TERMINAL SUPERVISOR (PABT)

Summary:
Supervises and controls Bus Operations activities in assigned service area at the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) - Station Starters and/or Ticket Agents. Ensures traffic flow through the PABT is managed effectively and company funds are kept secure. Ensures holiday service and staffing is at appropriate levels and that special situations and emergencies are managed professionally.
Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Supervises and controls Bus Operations activities in assigned service area at the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) - Station Starters and/or Ticket Agents. Ensures traffic flow through the PABT is managed effectively and company funds are kept secure. Ensures holiday service and staffing is at appropriate levels and that special situations and emergencies are managed professionally.
+ Ensures courteous and complete information is provided regarding all service at the PABT, and that support force issues are handled promptly and effectively.
+ Supervises and assigns the duties of agreement employees. Ensures Station Starters and Ticket Agents receive appropriate training and counseling. Performs first step grievances as necessary.
+ Prepares reports and analyzes data regarding assigned service. Analyzes on-time performance regarding assigned service area and makes recommendations for necessary service changes.
+ Operates and monitors the Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) computerized bus management system and the park/ride revenue control system.
Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent, and three (3) years of experience in the transportation system sector (*Sector includes Aviation, Motor Carrier/Trucking, Maritime, Mass Transit and Passenger Rail; Freight, Military mobile operations as well as Postal and Shipping. *)
+ Good written communications skills and experience using Microsoft Word required.
+ Must possess a valid New Jersey State driver’s license at the time of hire and maintain such license for the duration of employment. Within six months of hire must obtain a CDL B permit. Within twelve months of employment employee must obtain a CDL B with a Passenger Endorsement.
Physical Demands:
+ Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
+ Some walking and standing relative to interaction with other personnel.
+ Ability to lift 25 lbs.
+ Travel to NJT facilities as needed

NOTE: This position is safety sensitive. All candidates and employees must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug test with a negative result and are subject to additional testing as required by the DOT/FTA Drug and Alcohol regulations.
This is a 24/7 operation employees in the title of Terminal Supervisors work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays as NJ Transit operations dictate. Must be willing to respond to emergencies and work extra hours.
