    Job Title: Civil EngineerJob Description

     

    We are seeking a talented Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will have the option to work from any of our office locations in Sault, Gaylord, Okemos, Muskegon, Novi, or Wyandotte. Your primary role will involve supporting various land/site development projects, including substations, natural gas underground, utility work, parking lots, municipalities, and road commissions. This position offers an opportunity for growth, as you will work under experienced engineers and eventually take on more responsibilities.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform technical site engineering for commercial, industrial, governmental, and aviation projects.

    + Prepare drawing packages for all stages of projects from initial concept to construction.

    + Develop drawing packages utilizing AutoCAD & Civil 3D for geometric layout, grading, drainage, and underground utilities.

    + Review local zoning ordinances to develop site layouts and meet special requirements.

    + Design site grading, pavement, landscaping, and site utilities (storm, sanitary, water) in accordance with local, state, and federal standards.

    + Review and incorporate client-specific design standards into projects.

    + Coordinate civil site design with other disciplines to meet project deliverables.

    + Assist in the preparation of project specification manuals.

    + Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for client budgeting and plan review fees.

    + Assist in obtaining permits through federal, state, county, and local authorities.

    + Assist in the review of RFIs, contractor submittals, and shop drawings.

    + Analyze and format topographic survey data.

    + Develop and maintain CAD standards and templates.

    + Interface with clients as part of the team.

    + Conduct site visits for field measurements and inspections.

    + Prepare technical reports and engineering studies.

    + Prepare proposals and RFPs.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering

    + 10+ years of experience in land development

    + Proficiency in Civil 3D

    + Proficiency in AutoCAD

    + Experience with land development and site planning

    + EIT certification and working towards PE certification

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Professional Engineer (PE) certification

    + Project management skills

    + Experience with government, commercial, aviation, and industrial projects

    Work Environment

    Our Novi office has about 60 employees across multiple departments. Core hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm, with flexibility. Weekend work is very rare. Initially, you will be expected to work in the office five days a week, but once trained, you may be offered one day of remote work per week.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $64.00/hr.
