We are seeking a Field Operations Manager to join a reputable cement contracting company. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams, providing operational and scheduling support to ensure smooth and efficient project execution. This role acts as a liaison between the office and field construction, ensuring timely communication of construction requirements to project teams.
Responsibilities
+ Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, and contractors to plan, schedule, and oversee projects.
+ Manage and allocate company resources including personnel, materials, and equipment.
+ Monitor crew labor costs and hours.
+ Prepare and communicate a 'two-week planning schedule' with the Project Manager.
+ Communicate a two-day schedule to foremen.
+ Place concrete orders 2-4 days in advance and make necessary changes by 1:00 PM daily.
+ Collect time for hourly field employees.
+ Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and customers through effective communication and quality service.
+ Participate in the resolution of problems when requested by field construction managers and foremen.
+ Mentor and coach construction employees to excel in their field.
+ Conduct visual safety overviews of jobsites, identifying hazards, traffic, and other construction activities.
+ Coordinate with other trades to align and establish the location and continuation of work before manpower is assigned to the job.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of experience in construction supervision (subcontracting or general contracting).
+ Leadership qualities, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities (validate through references).
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills (validate through references).
+ Knowledge of process improvement methodologies and industry best practices.
+ Clean driving record.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in construction management or civil engineering (preferred).
+ Concrete experience.
Work Environment
The work environment is family-oriented with great tenure. The company has been in business for 75 years and offers company-paid benefits, year-end bonuses, and profit sharing. The role involves 70% fieldwork and 30% office work, with the majority of job sites within a two-hour radius of the office. During the busy season, expect 11-12 hour days or 50-60 hour weeks. A company vehicle will be provided.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $52.00/hr.
