Jacksons Internship Experiences offer students the opportunity to tackle projects and to make a real impact on the departmental and corporate objectives as they prepare to start their career journey. Our paid internships usually start in June and run through mid-August and can be part-time or full-time.
Our internship programs are great for ambitious students who are currently enrolled at an accredited, four-year college/university or are recent grads. Our goal is to create a thoughtful program to challenge our interns and help them grow and develop as professionals.
Food Safety and Quality Intern
Duration: Summer Internship Experience
Compensation: Paid $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Are you passionate about food safety and eager to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment? Join Jacksons as a Food Safety and Quality Intern, where you'll play a key role in supporting our food safety initiatives while developing valuable industry skills.
What you'll do as a Food Safety and Quality Intern:
+ Assist in fostering Jackson’s food safety culture.
+ Support the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and training materials.
+ Help update food safety procedures to align with changing requirements and certifications.
+ Assist in managing third-party food safety audits.
+ Collaborate with District Managers, Store Managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure compliance.
+ Follow up on health department requests and support the product recall process.
+ Travel to store locations and suppliers within the U.S. as needed.
What we're looking for:
+ Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Food Science, Public Health, or a related field.
+ Food Safety background preferred
+ Food handling experience preferred. Food handler card a plus.
+ A full-time student who has completed their sophomore year by the start of the internship.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills.
+ Willingness to travel as needed.
+ Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
