Compensation

$125 per school day non certified

$135 per school day NY State certified

$160 per school day for retired West Irondequoit teachers

Primary Responsibility

A West Irondequoit substitute teacher is a valued member of our team. A substitute teacher ensures that high quality instruction and social emotional support is sustained for our students. .

Job Requirements

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

• Problem-solving skills to successfully deal with everyday issues that occur.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Ability to understand and follow policies and procedures.

• Must adhere to the West Irondequoit Central School District Code of Conduct.

• Fingerprint clearance from New York State Department of Education.

Job Description

• Maintain confidentiality regarding students in accordance with district policies, laws, and regulations.

• Follow and implement documented lesson plans.

• Assist with arrival and dismissal and/or other tasks assigned by school administration.

• Follow and enforce classroom management techniques.

• Interact with students and staff in a respectful and professional manor.
