General Summary:
Qualcomm is looking for a Senior Director, Technology – Industrial Processor System Lead for its Industrial and Embedded Internet of Things (IE-IOT) Engineering team. This person will define the roadmap and needs of the Industrial Processor segment. Main focus of this person is to work with customers, product management teams to understand the unique needs of Industrial Processor Systems; which will be defined grounds up for IE-IOT Business Unit. The candidate will partner with SoC Architecture teams (both BU and Core), IP Architecture teams and SoC execution teams in QCT to represent segment needs. The candidate will work on SoC and IP roadmap definitions to meet the need of Industrial Processor customers. Will front end all customer engagement from an engineering standpoint. This person will need to create a small but very technical Industrial Processor system team.
This person needs to engage collaboratively across teams and organizational boundaries, including with Hardware design & Verification, Software, Product Management and Product Planning teams to create leading SoC-wide solutions that provide the best-in-class cost, performance, and power. Efficiently communicate experimental results, review with technical leads and peers, and analyze outstanding issues. Innovate and develop new cross-IP SoC-wide solutions that enable Industrial Processor Segment.
Prior experience in defining complex SoC Architecture is needed. Prior experience in the Industrial Processor segment Including motor control, Industrial Ethernet is highly preferred.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
+ Work with IE-IOT Customers/Product Management teams and define Industrial Processor System needs.
+ Create a end to end roadmap including: SoC, HW Platform, SW requirements, IP roadmap for Industrial Processor.
+ Work closely with IE-IOT and Core SoC Arch teams to define ground up SoC architecture for low cost, easy to program SoCs for Industrial Processor segment.
+ Work with product team define business case and execution plans for this new segment of Industrial Processor, participate in various gate reviews and make sure the Chipset/HW/SW is meeting the need of customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 10+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 9+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
• 2+ years of experience in one or more system architecture technology areas and products (e.g., Power System, Shared Resource Management, Limits/Thermal Management, Hardware Islands).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master's or Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
+ 20+ years of experience with computer architecture, or embedded systems.
+ 10+ years of work experience in a role requiring interaction with senior leadership (e.g., Vice President level and above).
+ 10+ years in a technical leadership role with or without direct reports
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Owns architecture for the system and works cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive the definition of requirements (e.g., performance, power, cost).
+ Guides the identification of architecture enhancements.
+ Acts as an expert resource across the department for efficiently identifying and resolving the most complex issues; oversees model/design reviews, ensures alignment with customer needs, and influences overall product/technology roadmap and Qualcomm strategy.
+ Strategically adds value to platform, methodology, and tools for modeling. Creates technical vision for modeling, simulations, and analyses of power, performance, and other KPIs at the system level; determines impact of results on current and future system or customer requirements and oversees architectural decisions across the organization.
+ Sets the strategic direction for consulting with and influencing external partners to develop long-term SoC implementation strategies and plans that align technical and business goals of all stakeholders.
+ Acts as an expert resource in niche areas and forward looking technologies related to industry trends, competitors' products, and advances in various engineering fields related to areas of specialization; shares this information across teams and the organization; directs research topics for team based on resources available.
+ Drives the strategic evolution across domains and defines product/technology roadmaps by collaborating with senior stakeholders across the business.
+ Creates and communicates an organizational-wide, long-term vision to lead the industry in SoC architecture; drives teams to develop innovative ideas for new directions to explore.
+ Sets guidelines for the department for writing detailed technical documentation, specifications, and/or feature descriptions to ensure different audiences can easily understand. Writes and reviews documentation to ensure it can be easily understood by a variety of audiences.
Level of Responsibility:
+ Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels. Role may require strong negotiation and influence, communication to large groups or high-level constituents.
+ Has influence over the formulation and achievement of long-term business plans and objectives.

Pay range** **and Other Compensation & Benefits** **:
$276,300.00 - $414,500.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
