Colonial Pipeline is the largest refined products pipeline in the United States, transporting more than 100 million gallons or 2.5 million barrels per day. Colonial transports various grades of gasoline, diesel fuel, home heating oil, jet fuel, and fuels for the U.S. military through a pipeline system. Colonial transports approximately 45 percent of all fuel consumed on the East Coast, providing refined products to more than 50 million Americans.
About the Senior Specialist, Tank Integrity Position
As a Senior Tank Integrity Specialist, you will ensure regulatory compliance for aboveground storage tanks and provide technical support for inspection, repair, and construction of aboveground storage tanks. This position serves as the company Subject Matter Expert for engineering and other technical matters related to tanks. The Senior Specialist will review tank repair scopes and tank repair drawings to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to company standards. This role will manage External AST inspections per API 653 and STI SP001.
What You Get to Do:
+ Perform quality control of tank inspection and post modification tank inspection reports.
+ Ensure tank inspections and repairs are properly documented according to regulatory requirements and company standards and are well organized for future reference.
+ Review, revise, and create tank integrity procedures, standards, forms, etc. to support consistency in the execution of tank inspection and repair.
+ Review API ballots for revisions to tank related standards and provide input on impact to company.
+ Prepare compliance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing tank data and trends.
+ Prepare for and participate during internal audits and regulatory audits from PHMSA or air agencies.
+ Populate and maintain the Tank Integrity related database and tracking tools and interface with Corrosion Prevention, GIS and other corporate programs as required to integrate data in support of the overall Tank Integrity program.
+ Maintain regulatory inspection internal and external compliance dates for aboveground storage tanks per API 653 and STI SP001.
+ Maintain regulatory IFR/seal inspection compliance dates for aboveground storage tanks per federal and local air quality regulations.
+ Review tank strappings and provide support for setting tank level alarms to meet API 2350.
+ Maintain regulatory inspection compliance dates for PHMSA regulated pressure vessels per API 510.
What You Bring to the Table:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field of study from an accredited college or university; will consider a combination of experience and/or education.
+ Ideally, 7+ years of experience in inspection and repair of aboveground storage tanks.
+ Working experience in the design, operation, inspection, maintenance, and/or repair of aboveground storage tanks.
+ API 653 and API 510 certification a plus, not required.
+ Preferred project management skills related to tank inspections and repairs to fill in as needed depending on the Tank Integrity Team’s needs.
