CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a Drafting/CAD Technician II.

Description:
As a member of a global drafting department, you will assist in the creation, revision, and storage of electronic drawing files (Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD) for custom-designed process equipment used in manufacturing locations worldwide.
Primary responsibilities include supporting the area drafting lead in completing all necessary tasks for engineering/development drawing sets prior to release into Autodesk Vault. Typical tasks involve creating and modifying 3D models and 2D drawings while strictly adhering to company drafting standards. This role does not include new design responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Correct redlined models/drawings based on inputs from drafting leads or engineering/development teams
+ Convert legacy hand-drawn and AutoCAD drawings into updated 3D models and associative 2D drawings
+ Create 2D drawings from existing 3D models developed by other users
+ Collect and incorporate engineering team data into updated drawings
+ Obtain measurements/information from the production floor for incorporation into project drawings
Work Environment:
+ Employment through a third party on a W2 contract basis
+ 1-year contract with possible extensions based on performance and workload
+ Hybrid work schedule available: work from home up to 3 days per week
+ Base schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; target 45 hours per week (overtime often required)
+ Approximately 10% travel within NC; company credit card should be supplied for travel expenses
Required Qualifications
Education:
+ One of the following is preferred (other technical degrees with proven drafting skills will also be considered):
+ A.A.S. Mechanical Engineering Technology degree
+ A.O.S. Drafting/CAD degree
+ Drafting Certificate/Certification
+ Candidates without degrees must demonstrate strong proficiency in 2D and 3D drafting with a minimum of 2 years of Drafting/CAD Technician and mechanical engineering experience
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in mechanical drafting
+ Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault
+ Familiar with ASME/ANSI drafting standards
+ Strong general Windows computer skills
+ Ability to adapt to and comply with corporate drafting standards and guidelines
+ High attention to detail and strong work ethic
