    We help drive a high-performance culture which prioritizes appropriate risk taking by proactively helping to determine which risks matter. We do this by identifying our top and emerging risks, prioritizing risk reduction activities as well as capturing and sharing our current level of resiliency. We seek to continuously evolve how we are doing these activities, so we keep pace with internal and external evolving risk landscape.

     

    This newly created role provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team of risk and business leaders to stay ahead of the revolving risk landscape by continuously enhancing and evolving our risk program. Internally, this position will interact with various risk and business teams at all management levels within the Guardian enterprise and will acquire insight into the risks of one of the country’s largest life insurers.

    You will

    + Help to drive the identification and prioritization of top ERM risks.

    + Assist in the prioritization of risk reduction activities across ERM.

    + Lead the process for identifying and communicating emerging risks.

    + Establish and maintain the process for capturing and sharing overall operational resiliency.

    + Lead the operational risk scenarios process which includes collaborating with risk owners to identify and capture current resiliency as it relates to tail risk scenarios.

    + Participating in identifying and prioritizing top strategic risks

    + Support in the assessment and monitoring of strategic risks

    + Drive forward risk reporting improvement activities.

    + Manage prioritized cross-functional risk reduction projects.

    You have

    + Skilled in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

    + Broad / general risk-related knowledge.

    + Great communicator and “Can Do” attitude.

    + Proven ability to demonstrate innovation, problem solving and big picture thinking.

    + Proven relationship building skills.

    + Ability to take complex issues and simplify into digestible concepts.

    + Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

    + Relevant risk-related certification(s) is a plus.

     

    Reporting Relationships

     

    This role reports to the Head of Strategic Risk Management who reports to the Chief Risk Officer

     

    Location

     

    Hybrid: 3 days in the office, 2 days WFH. Preferred location – Hudson Yards, New York City

    Salary Range:

    $101,180.00 - $166,220.00

     

    The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
