As a Supplier Quality Engineer specializing in plastics, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that new products launch smoothly, and suppliers deliver consistent, reliable results.
You’ll be the key liaison between our supply base and manufacturing teams, supporting everything from process improvement to problem resolution while helping deliver products that enhance everyday life.

How You'll Create Possibilities
Key Responsibilities
+ Build and manage supplier relationships with a focus on improving quality, reducing cost, and enhancing performance.
+ Lead the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process to ensure successful new product launches.
+ Own and drive the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) for new parts, ensuring readiness before pilot builds.
+ Conduct supplier audits to verify Quality Management System (QMS) compliance and drive corrective actions.
+ Manage process changes, material changes, and Transfers of Work (TOW) through established change control protocols.
+ Address supplier quality issues by defining defect modes, identifying root causes, and driving sustainable corrective actions (SCAR).
+ Use supplier scorecards and quality tools to identify trends, initiate projects, and deliver measurable improvements.
+ Apply Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste and rework.
+ Partner closely with cross-functional teams in technology, sourcing, and manufacturing.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Minimum Qualifications
+ 3+ years of supply chain, quality, or technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or related technical field; or equivalent experience.
+ Experience managing projects and organizing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Clear, confident communication skills—written and verbal.
+ Ability to lead through influence and thrive in a matrixed environment.
+ Familiarity with quality systems, tools, and processes.
+ Proficiency in common computer tools (e.g., MS Office Suite, data analysis platforms).
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with plastic injection molding processes and tools.
+ Strong skills in statistical analysis and quality tools (e.g., Gage R&R, SPC, PFMEA, DOE, Control Plans).
+ Ability to interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances (including basic GD&T knowledge).
+ Proficient with PPAP and structured problem-solving tools such as SCAR, 8-D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis.
+ Ability to simplify complex data and create executive-ready summaries.
+ Lean manufacturing experience or Six Sigma certification.

+ This is a full-time role based at Appliance Park in Louisville, KY.
+ Travel up to 20% to supplier and manufacturing sites within the U.S.
