    Overview

     

    The Research Coordinator I in the Motion Analysis Lab will assist with research studies of children and adults with movement disorders from neurological damage (e.g. cerebellar ataxia, stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and multiple sclerosis). Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with obtaining IRB (Institutional Review Board) approval, recruiting and testing subjects, and developing software to capture and analyze data.

    Responsibilities

    1. Test study subjects using computerized motion analysis, tone assessment, and strength testing devices.

    2. Perform various types of data analysis including: gait analysis, tone analysis, and strength analysis.

    3. Assist with development of software for capturing and analyzing data gathered from studies of motor disorders.

    4. Task development and programming of federally funded studies of motor disorders associated with neurological damage.

    5. Assist with equipment maintenance.

    6. Assist with coordination and recruitment of research subjects.

    7. Assist with developing and obtaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval for new experimental protocols.

    8. Attend scientific conferences and meetings.

    Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    * Knowledge of human musculoskeletal system is required.

    * Proficiency with programming languages (Matlab) is required.

    * Computer skills required for testing of research subjects

    * Proficiency with Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet, and database software required.

    EDUCATION:

    * Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or related field required.

    * Master’s degree preferred.

    EXPERIENCE:

    * Must have a minimum of one year of previous research experience.

    * Must have experience in biomedical research.

    * Must have familiarity with pediatric and/or adult medicine.

    RELATED TRAINING:

    * Proficiency with Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet and database software required.

    * Proficiency with programming languages would be ideal (MatLab).

     

    Minimum pay range

     

    USD $39,747.76/Yr.

     

    Maximum pay range

     

    USD $65,065.73/Yr.
