Summary
**Senior Principal Communications Consultant – Strategic Transmission Projects:** Plans, prepares and relays information about infrastructure projects for external audiences including media, stakeholders, and communities, and for internal audiences including employees.
Key Responsibilities
**Strategy and Planning** Proactively anticipates project needs and potential challenges, and develops, presents and implements communication strategies and project plans. Works collaboratively and iteratively with multiple groups within PGE to align corporate strategy and help PGE show up as one PGE, externally, with stakeholders, communities, customers and partners.
**Media Relations** Builds and maintains relationships with local, regional and national reporters who are covering large projects from inception through construction. Serve as a primary media contact and when appropriate, prepare and support senior executives and subject matter experts in media engagement.
**Content** Establish content strategy for large projects, from ideation through construction. Writes, edits or produces, or oversees the writing, editing and production of key project communications outputs including talking points, briefing memos, scripts, press releases, media statements, quotes, presentations, audio and/or video productions, and other communications tools. Typically works with a wide variety of subject matter experts, senior managers and executives.
**Consultation** Serves as a companywide communications expert linking narratives and overseeing a consistent proactive approach. Works broadly and collaboratively with the Corporate Communications team, Public Affairs, Project Management and with other external-facing departments, facilitating all aspects of communications, providing strategic guidance and communication solutions.
**Vendor Management** Will select and engage vendors regularly to create web content and collateral. Establishes quality metrics. Monitors work product quality of freelancers, agencies and other outside resources. Ensures alignment to overall brand concept.
**Other Duties** Designs, monitors and tracks metrics and reports back to the project team. Will lead cross-functional projects. May serve as a mentor to other team members and assign and direct work. Oversees top-tier, vital and sensitive projects.
Education/Experience/Certifications
**Education** Requires a bachelor’s degree in journalism, writing or other related field or equivalent experience. Master’s in public administration, business administration or communications field preferred.
**Experience** Typically 10 or more years of experience in journalism, public relations, media relations, or corporate strategic communications, including internal and external communications. Prior experience supporting large-scale infrastructure and/or transmission projects required.

Compensation Range:
$107,025.00 - $222,560.00
Actual total compensation, including a performance based incentive bonus, is commensurate with experience, skills, qualifications, education, training, and internal equity. While we anticipate the selected candidate for this position will fall towards the middle or entry point of the compensation range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis.
