Job Description
THIS IS A NON-CAREER APPOINTMENT THAT IS LIMITED TO 129 HOURS PER MONTH
This position provides office support and clerical services in all areas of the Bureau of Public Affairs/Office of Communications and Media Relations within the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). Duties include web content management, updating social media, writing news releases, writing articles, transcribing closed captioning for videos, monitoring the pothole hotline, distributing email messages to the appropriate MDOT staff members, filing documents, coordinating rest area honors, and any other clerical work as assigned by the manager.
The "Salary" listed above is a range that reflects the minimum rate through the maximum rate of the Student Assistant position.

Current enrollment in vocational or technical school, or post-secondary educational institution.
MDOT requires enrollment in at least 6 credit hours per semester/term excluding summers and continuously enrolled and earning the required credits.

Proof of enrollment may include unofficial transcripts, an acceptance letter from the college/university (as long as it is for the upcoming semester/term), copy of current semester/term schedule, or a receipt of tuition payment that shows a balance of $0.00.
