    Job Description

    As an OpenText Managed File Transfer Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting secure file transfer workflows using the OpenText Managed File Transfer platform. You will work closely with business users and vendors to gather requirements, create workflows, and ensure secure and reliable data exchange. Additionally, you will serve as the primary operational support engineer, resolving issues that arise and maintaining the platform’s availability and security. As a hybrid role, candidates must be available to work onsite at Nordstrom's corporate headquarters in Seattle, WA a minimum of 3 days/week.

     

    This role requires strong knowledge of cloud technologies, firewalls, SFTP protocols, and encryption to ensure secure and efficient file transfers across internal systems and external partners.

     

    A Day in the Life…

    Workflow Design & Implementation:

    + Collaborate with business users and vendors to gather requirements for file transfer workflows.

    + Design and implement file transfer workflows using the OpenText Managed File Transfer platform.

    + Ensure workflows are optimized for secure and efficient data transfer.

    Operational Support:

    + Act as the primary support engineer for the OpenText Managed File Transfer platform.

    + Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to file transfers, connectivity, and platform availability.

    + Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and monitoring to ensure reliability.

    + Identify automated process and/or GenAI that could reduce operational demand

    Security & Compliance:

    + Configure and maintain secure file transfer protocols (e.g., SFTP) and enforce encryption standards.

    + Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.

    + Implement firewall rules and configurations to support secure file transfer workflows.

    Collaboration & Communication:

    + Communicate technical requirements and solutions effectively to business users, vendors, and internal teams.

    + Provide user training and documentation as needed.

     

    Skills needed to be successful…

    Technical Skills:

    + Hands-on experience with OpenText Managed File Transfer or similar file transfer platforms.

    + Solid knowledge of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).

    + Strong understanding of SFTP protocols, encryption standards, and secure data transfer methodologies.

    + Experience configuring and troubleshooting firewalls for secure connectivity.

    + Familiarity with system monitoring and operational tools to ensure availability and performance.

    Operational Support Experience:

    + Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to file transfers and system operations.

    + Experience maintaining platform availability and security, including patching and updates.

    Soft Skills:

    + Excellent communication skills for interacting with business users, vendors, and technical teams.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

    + Ability to clearly document requirements, workflows, and troubleshooting steps.

    Educational Background:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience required.

    On-Call Responsibilities:

    This role will require participation in an on-call rotation to provide operational support for the OpenText Managed File Transfer platform and related workflows.

    Pay Range Details

     

    The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

     

    Washington: $88,500 - $162,500 Annually

     

    This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
