Job Summary
As a part-time member of CHPC’s software infrastructure team, you will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, and maintenance/troubleshooting. The primary focus is on enterprise software systems internal to CHPC , which includes enterprise data management. Analytics and performance monitoring are also frequently addressed.
Responsibilities
+ Software development and operational support, primarily with Python, Go.
+ You will be part of a small software team and part of the larger CHPC staff, which includes systems and datacenter professionals, and a cadre of scientific computing facilitators.
+ You will work closely with CHPC staff to develop and maintain internal software tools for supporting CHPC operations.
+ You may also work directly with CHPC users to support their research computing and data needs.
Minimum Qualifications
Preferences
Must be a University of Utah student.
+ Proficient with at least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Javascript, Bash)
+ Familiarity with system programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Go, Java)
+ Comfortable with software development collaboration tools, such as Git.
+ Familiarity with Linux and terminal shell environments.
+ Familiarity with data analysis technologies, such as SQL , and common data formats ( CSV , JSON ).
+ Experience with scientific computing is a plus.
+ Experience with scientific research workflows is a plus.
