    Major/Essential Functions:

    + Performs clinical duties, including sign-out responsibilities, gross frozen section coverage, night/weekend call duties, and presentation at tumor boards at the assigned hospital

    + Participates in teaching activities for medical students, residents, and laboratory technicians

    + Engages in advancement of scientific knowledge through research and/or scholarship

    + Serves the academic community through participation in institutional governance, such as committee work

    + Contributes to the community through academically-related public service complementary to the institutional mission

    + Demonstrates professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine’s Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

    + Ensures compliance with HIPAA and departmental billing regulations

    + Adheres to institutional and departmental policies and procedures

    + Two or more years post-residency experience in pediatric pathology practice

    Required Qualifications:

    + M.D. or D.O. degree

    + Successful completion of ACGME-accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Pathology

    + Board certification in anatomic and clinical pathology by the American Board of Pathology

    + Unrestricted Texas Medical License, or eligible for Texas Medical licensure

    + Experience in pediatric pathology sign-outs

    + Experience in general surgical pathology sign-outs

    + Experience in the interpretation of frozen sections

    + Experience in the performance and interpretation of bone marrows

    + Experience in grossing and in performing autopsies
