    This full-time Certified Recreation Therapist position primarily works Monday-Friday 8a-4:30p, with rotating evenings, weekends and holidays, approximately 40 total hours per week. This position will serve across our continuum of programs in Ankeny, Polk City, and Des Moines.

     

    Our Recreation Therapist positions start at $21/hour for minimal experience, assuming you have an Iowa Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist license (CTRS). We do annual raises based on budget capacity, and you also have the opportunity for a discretionary bonus at your anniversary.

     

    This full-time position is eligible for subsidized health and dental insurance, vision insurance, free life and long-term disability insurance, a 401k match, PTO, and other benefits.     What do Recreation Therapists do?

    In partnership with other members of the transdisciplinary rehabilitation team, the Recreation Therapist provides advanced professional services for persons with brain injury or other neurological conditions, including:

    + personalized assessment of each person served for leisure and recreational interests and opportunities

    + develop, coordinate and monitor the implementation of individual and group interventions, according to persons served interests, both within our facility as well as in a community setting

    + complete necessary documentation such as initial assessments, complex goals and objectives, daily encounter notes, and discharge summaries

    + coordinate evening and weekend programs and special events

    An excellent candidate for our Recreation Therapist position meets the following criteria:

    + Has some experience working with individuals who have experienced a brain injury or other neurological condition

    + Scheduling flexibility

    Qualified applicants must have:

    + Ability to maintain CPR certification (if you do not have this already, we will pay for it)

    + Ability to operate a vehicle on behalf of On With Life, including a Chauffeur's license (if you do not have this already, we will pay for it)

    + Completed schooling for recreation therapy, ideally with an active CTRS license
