    Director of Valuation

    Job Description Summary

    The Director of Valuation (DOV) within Valuation and Advisory (V&A) works in conjunction with the Market Lead and Quality Control Lead to run a geographical region. The DOV will be responsible for overseeing the valuation process in a specific region to improve the quality and timeliness of reports and increase the overall consistency of the V&A deliverables. The DOV oversees the region’s operations, ensuring deadlines are met. This individual will be responsible for overseeing a team of skilled appraisers, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment, and contributing to the strategic direction of the company. This position will also take an active role and serve as a V&A representative with the Appraisal Institute (locally and nationally) and work with local leaders to build and develop the appraiser team.

    Job Description

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Responsible for the following:

    Team Leadership

    + Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of valuation professionals.

    + Foster a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and teamwork.

    + Provide guidance on complex appraisal assignments and ensure consistency in methodology.

    Operational Oversight

    + Oversee the day-to-day operations of the region’s valuations, ensuring efficiency and adherence to industry standards.

    + Implement and optimize appraisal processes to enhance productivity and accuracy.

    + Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows and improve overall service delivery.

    Client Engagement

    + Act as a primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their valuation needs and maintaining strong client relationships.

    + Collaborate with client relationship manager (SPOC) to identify opportunities for expanding client engagements.

    Market Analysis

    + Stay abreast of industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes affecting commercial real estate valuation.

    + Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on market analysis.

    Strategic Planning

    + Contribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic plan for growth and market expansion.

    + Identify opportunities for service enhancements, technology adoption, and process improvements.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

    Education:

    + Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field.

    + Advanced degree or professional certification (MAI, MRICS, etc.) preferred.

    Previous Experience:

    + 7+ years of experience in an organization with expertise in valuation

    + 7+ years of experience across real estate platforms and in delivering integrated client services

    + 5+ years of management experience

    Targeted Competencies

    + In-depth knowledge of USPAP, FIRREA, client requirements, and other regulatory items

    + Strong managerial skills

    + Substantial client experience skills

    + Knowledge of the local markets and clients

    The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

     

    The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.

     

    The compensation for the position is: Salary + Bonus/Commission. Total earnings are expected to be $200,000 - $300,000 annually
