PennEngineering is seeking a motivated, excited individual to join our team as a Multi-spindle Hybrid CNC Machine Technician. At PennEngineering, you will collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
You will program, set up, operate, and optimize multi-spindle, CNC machines to produce precision components from materials such as aluminum, steel, and stainless steel. The role demands high technical skill and attention to detail to ensure quality and efficiency in manufacturing processes while maintaining adherence to safety and quality standards.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Key Responsibilities:
+ Create, modify, and optimize production part setups, including CNC programming (using G-code and M-code), cam and cam drive selection, and tooling selection, to produce parts that meet drawing and quality specifications and tolerances on multiple machines and machine types.
+ Setup and optimize machine operation.
+ Perform dimensional and key characteristic quality checks, SPC charting and other testing required to meet all quality standards using standard and specialized precision measurement instruments.
+ Troubleshoot machines to identify the root causes of machining problems and resolve them.
+ Maintain machines including mechanical maintenance, PM and basic machine troubleshooting.
+ Work with engineers and production teams to optimize machining processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency.
+ Maintain accurate records of machine setups, adjustments, part inspections, and production data.
Documentation and Reporting:
+ Maintain accurate production records, including data collection, SPC charts, and job-specific details in Microsoft Office, JDE, or other systems.
+ Coordinate activities with internal engineering, sales, and logistics teams.
+ Create work orders and manage product flow to secondary processes such as heat treating or plating.
Safety and Maintenance:
+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
+ Conduct routine maintenance checks and identify potential issues to ensure machine reliability.
Additional Duties:
+ Assist in training team members on machine operation and safety protocols.
+ Perform other tasks as assigned to support the Small Lot Shop and broader production objectives.
Physical Requirements:
+ Ability to stand for extended periods (8-12 hours per shift).
+ Visual acuity and dexterity to interpret detailed part prints, inspect small components, and make precise adjustments.
+ Capability to work in air-conditioned or non-air-conditioned environments.
+ Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. repetitively and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs. throughout a shift.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
Education and Qualifications:
Required:
+ High School Diploma or GED.
+ 3+ years of experience operating and programming CNC machines.
+ Strong proficiency in G-code programming, setup, and troubleshooting.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and machine schematics.
+ Experience using precision measuring instruments for quality control and process verification.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred:
+ Familiarity with multi-spindle screw machine tooling, adjustments, and changeovers.
+ Associate's degree (AAS) or certification in Machining Technology or equivalent experience.
+ Proficiency in using CAM software, SPC tools, and data collection systems.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g., JDE).
