    Job Summary

    Sign-on bonus available up to $15,000 and relocation up to $2,500!

     

    + Schedule: Full time, 40 hours M-F, 6:45AP-3:15P. This position has some call requirements (will be reviewed more upon interview).

    + Department: Operating Room

    + Location: Forsyth Medical Center

    + Unit Info: 17 OR rooms, range of procedures including general, vascular & open heart.

    + Requirements: Minimum of three years operating room experience with proficiency in the Surgical Tech role. Minimum one year experience in specialty service line, required. Please see position requirements located under qualification section below for more information.

     

    The Surgical Tech Lead supports all services dealing with surgical procedures. The Surgical Tech Lead assists and supports the Service Line Clinician in overall planning, organization, direction and evaluation within surgical services. The Surgical Tech Lead is responsible for coordinating the supplies, instrumentation, and equipment for all surgeries related to that service line.

    Qualifications

    + Education: High School Diploma or GED, required.

    + + Graduate of a School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist). If incumbent is not certified, certification must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted. Required.

    + Experience: Minimum of three years operating room experience with proficiency in the Surgical Tech role. Minimum one year experience in specialty service line, required.

    + Licensure/Certification:

    + Current Surgical Tech Certification through NBSTSA, preferred.

    + ACLS for staff working in the Cardiovascular OR, required.

    + Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills, verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, conflict resolution skills, time management skills and critical thinking skills.
