This is an exciting opportunity to join the Digital Banking team in American Express Technology. We are looking for a strategic, forward-thinking, high-energy, standout individual to support the Vice President of Digital Banking Engineering and Product Management.
We are looking for a Manager Assistant who has a passion for details and can provide an outstanding standard of support for the VP. They will work autonomously and efficiently, anticipating the leader’s needs and “connecting the dots” behind the scenes. They will possess outstanding thought leadership, strategic thinking, communication, and organizational skills, and will have a consistent track record of excellence operating independently and within a high performing team environment. This individual will also serve as a thought partner in determining direction for the organization and business partners, in collaboration with the VP and his team.
The Manager Assistant will be responsible for a broad range of activities including strategic, analytic and communications initiatives to help ensure the objectives of the organization are met. They will be a key member of the DBP Leadership Team, working closely and collaborating with all members of the team.
Key** **responsibilities will include:
+ Act as a central point of contact for urgent business issues, initiatives managed by the executive office, and addressing information requests
+ End-to-end creation of impactful and comprehensive communications/presentations for key business reviews with senior management
+ Play a key role in driving the goals of the team, including oversight of key special projects and initiatives
+ Handle business planning and operational processes driven through the SVP office (e.g. Tech BUR meetings, leadership team meetings, huddle presentations)
+ Lead ad hoc special projects
+ Understand the pulse of the team, assess the health of colleague engagement and development within the team, propose recommendations to address key themes/top priorities and lead initiatives to optimize (including team events, rewards and recognition and more)
+ Ensure effective flow of information and communications with the team
+ Facilitate Talent Assessments and mid-year and year-end calibration activities
+ Manage and give guidance to the Executive Assistants
Qualifications include:
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to provide strategic thought leadership and lead projects with limited guidance. The individual must be composed, organized, culturally aware and a strong communicator who can effectively multitask and prioritize as needs evolve. Additional qualifications include:
+ Demonstrated ability to get results, think strategically and globally
+ Demonstrated project management, organization and planning skills applied in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment
+ Confirmed work experience within areas such as Administration, HR, Project Management or Technology
+ Passion, energy, personal accountability and a desire to learn and grow as a leader
+ Excellent interpersonal, judgment, communication and follow through skills
+ Solid analytical and financial acumen
+ Outstanding oral and written communication skills
+ Consistent track record of taking complex technical information and translate it into clear communications (presentations/memos) for a variety of audiences
+ Proven ability to navigate effectively and efficiently within American Express
+ Highly motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks, with excellent organization skills and careful attention to detail
+ Outstanding interpersonal/ relationship building skills
+ A great teammate who can build consensus and work across a large and diverse organization
+ Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, work effectively in ambiguous situations, and a willingness to take charge and drive results
+ Active listening skills, summarization skills and lateral thinking to uncover and react to emerging opportunities
+ Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and be flexible when faced with changing priorities
+ Able to deal with confidential information without exception
+ Prior technology experience/knowledge a plus
+ Typically holds a bachelor’s or master’s Degree (or has equivalent work experience)
+ Curiosity, creativity, and a desire to have fun!
Qualifications
Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
