    Description:** **Overview

    You will be the Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer for our Missiles and Fire Control team in Orlando, FL\. Our team is responsible for designing, integrating, and testing innovative Guidance, Navigation, and Control \(GNC\) solutions for missile and fire control products, and this role will contribute to the development of complex algorithm solutions\.

    What You Will Be Doing

    As the Guidance Navigation and Control Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and testing GNC, tracking, and servo control algorithm solutions, as well as developing and validating complex models and simulations\. You will work with a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers to support various contracts and IRADs\.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    \- Designing, integrating, and testing GNC algorithm solutions for missile and fire control products

     

    \- Developing, verifying, and validating complex models and simulations, such as 6\-degree\-of\-freedom simulations and effects\-based simulations

     

    \- Evaluating system performance in complex scenarios and environments

     

    \- Supporting ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware\-In\-The\-Loop \(HWIL\) activities

     

    \- Collaborating with internal leadership and external customers to support program reviews and technical interchange meetings

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Candidate must have a degree in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Masters degree\.

    • Candidate must have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control \(GNC\) or Modeling and Simulation \(M&S\) assignments based on completed course work or professional experience:

    o Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms

    o Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6\-degree\-of\-freedom simulations

    o Demonstrate experience in one or more of the following languages: C\+\+, Matlab, Python

    o Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations\.

     

    \*\* An Interim Secret Clearance is needed to start, therefore you must be a US Citizen\.

    Desired Skills:

    • Prefer candidates with advanced degree in related discipline

    • Experience developing and analyzing algorithms related to signal/image processing

    • Proficiency with C\+\+ programming, Matlab, Python, and Linux

    • Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses

    • Experience designing and analyzing target tracking and terrestrial navigation systems

    • Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as extended Kalman filters \(EKF\)

    • Demonstrated skills in probability, statistics, and Design of Experiments \(DOE\)

    • Experience with Model\-based systems engineering \(MBSE\)

    • Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real\-time performance requirements

    **Security Clearance Statement:** This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration\.

    **Clearance Level:** Secret

    **Work Schedules:** Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees\. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed\. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits\.

    **Schedule for this Position:** 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
