    Position Description

    Legrand has an exciting opportunity for aCAD Drafter Ito join theData Center Power & Control Division Starline TeaminCanonsburg, PA. The Drafter I is responsible for creating mechanical and electrical drawings of low complexity using a 3D CAD system and associated BOM via an ERP system. Works under clearly defined guidelines and under close supervision of manager, engineers, and other Draftsmen.

     

    This is a HYBRID position with 3 days in the office.

     

    What Will You Do?

     

    + Create dimensioned drawings and 3D models based on input from engineers and customers.

    + Perform basic design work on components as directed including 3D library components and assemblies.

    + Create parts lists for new products.

    + Create catalog pages, illustrations, and animations; support work within the ERP system.

    + Perform a variety of tasks related to new design and project work, including but not limited to Purchasing support, Quality, and Production assistance.

    + Engineering Change Notification (ECN) activities.

    Qualifications

    Required Skills

    Education & Experience

     

    + Two-year technical degree, Associate in Mechanical or Electrical Drafting preferred or equivalent experience.

    + Working knowledge of AutoCAD Inventor or similar CAD system is preferred

    + Previous intern experience is a plus.

    + Autodesk certification is preferred.

    Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:

    + Aptitude for electro-mechanical products and applications.

    + Drafting: Ability to create 3D models and assemblies in a CAD environment is preferred

    + Mechanical aptitude: the ability to work with those who build, assemble, and other production functions.

    + General electrical knowledge is a plus including the ability to perform low-complexity wiring diagrams.

    Personal Qualities/Behaviors:

    + The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and mandatory hearing protection are required.

    + Ability to sit for prolonged periods.

    + Able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
