• Maintenance Technician

    Schroeder-Manatee Ranch (Sarasota, FL)


    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position has primary responsibility for a diversity of general routine maintenance tasks, equipment preventative maintenance, and support to the Stewardship District, and other miscellaneous tasks as they occur.

     

    SCHEDULE: Tuesday through Saturday 7am to 3:30 pm, half an hour lunch, and other hours as needed.

     

    (occasional support for special functions, weekends and evenings)

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    + Operate machinery such as mowers, line trimmers & edgers and light-duty tractors & forklifts.

    + Install and/or remove fences, signs and other hardscape elements.

    + Trash pick-up and hauling.

    + Maintenance of parks and other facilities.

    + Assure company safety guidelines and procedures are followed.

    + Assist with maintenance, record keeping, inventory and storage of company equipment.

    + Assist with implementation of equipment repairs.

    + Take pride in work performed and produce a high-quality end product.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    + Good driving abilities with and without towing a trailer

    + Ability to listen, understand and follow instruction.

    + Prior experience with a variety of maintenance tasks.

    + Knowledge to utilize the proper equipment to perform the required task.

    + Ability to work independently and efficiently as well as with a partner.

    + Basic computer and smart phone abilities (text, email, etc.)

    + Operation of small equipment

    + Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    + Valid US Driver's License.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Work primarily performed in the outdoor environment, exposed to hot, cold, damp and dirty conditions.
