As the Education Pathways Research Manager, you will provide leadership for advancing research, evaluation and data governance structures for several complex educational programs at the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) that impact a large portion of the state's student population. Duties will include:
+ Providing consultative and supervisory work to develop and evaluate solutions and strategies to address emerging issues related to the educational programs and federally funded grant deliverables that the incumbent oversees.
+ Managing multiple program priorities, research, and activities for assigned education programs, supervising seasoned professional consultants, leading collaboration across MDE's divisions and other state agencies, engaging with outreach school and district staff, and serving on the DPA leadership team.
+ Providing consultative services around longitudinal student outcome analytics, educational research design methodologies, and the ethical and legal oversight of data and research to staff from across the agency.
_This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or a bordering county along the Minnesota state line. Effective June 1, employees living within 75 miles of the office will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. For those who live 75 or more miles away, the requirements are currently being assessed for each agency._
Minimum Qualifications

Six (6) years of professional experience
OR
A bachelor's or master's degree and five (5) years of professional experience
Experience must include:
+ Lead or supervisory experience (direct staff oversight)
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience with research that utilizes data from Minnesota's Statewide Longitudinal Education Data System.
+ Experience with research that utilizes data from the Minnesota Student Survey.
+ Experience working at a state education agency and collaborating with state agency partners.
+ Experience working on federally funded grants and/or in collaboration with the Federal Department of Education.
+ PhD and/or other advanced training/certifications in research.
