The Joint and Sports Medicine Orthopedics clinic is now hiring for a passionate and personable part-time Medical Assistant!
Position Summary & Highlights** **:
+ This MA position will support a busy provider part-time in the clinic working as part of the sports medicine and orthopedics team.
+ Our highly skilled orthopedic surgeons and interdisciplinary clinical teams are regarded as among the finest in the region and many have received national acclaim for their quality care.
+ Our clinics offer patients both surgical and non-surgical treatment options for their problems. Patients can feel confident they are in capable hands with board-certified Orthopedic Surgeons whose highest priority is excellence in patient care.
What You Will Do** **:
+ You will work with another MA/Certified First Assistant to support a busy orthopedic surgeon.
+ In addition to the typical MA duties, you will prep injections for minor procedures, complete chart prep, DME application, and suture removals.
+ You will also assist with surgery scheduling, prior authorizations, MRI authorizations, patient phone calls, and potentially casting and cast removal.
+ You will work with great providers in a highly-team oriented environment, working on clinic projects that improve workflows and processes in the clinic.
+ An ideal candidate will have an interest in sports medicine and orthopedics, strong customer service skills, and desire to learn.
+ You are a quick learner, has an easy going personality, good sense of humor, and is a flexible team player willing to jump in on whatever is needed to be done.
Work Schedule** **:
+ 20 hours/week - Mondays and Tuesdays, 8:00am – 4:30pm and one or two other days during the work week. Exact schedule is still being determined.

Minimum Requirements:
+ High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
+ MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
+ American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
+ American Medical Technologists (RMA)
+ National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
+ National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
+ National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
+ American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
+ National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
+ New Graduates: 1) MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. 2) Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hourseven with MA certification.
+ Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
+ Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
+ *Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details. EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification.
