    Job Description:

We approach problems with creativity and innovation. The Sterling, VA office is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to join our growing practice. We are looking for a motivated candidate with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Provide engineering support on geotechnical projects during the exploration, design, and construction phases.

    + Planning, performing, and overseeing subsurface investigation and testing programs.

    + Preparing and/or reviewing field test logs and geological/engineering reports.

    + Survey interpretation, calculation of quantities, and creation of various other supportive drawings and graphics.

    + Development of geotechnical reports and specifications.

    + Performing geological and geotechnical engineering analysis.

    + Proposal development.

    + Perform and oversee construction observation of specialty geotechnical works and foundation construction.

    + Must be willing to travel; some overnight and out-of-town travel should be expected.

    Required Skills/Experience:

    + Bachelor's degree focused in civil engineering, from an ABET-accredited institution.

    + 3+ years of relevant work experience.

    + EIT certification.

    + Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil3D.

    + Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

    + Have a positive attitude and work well in a team environment.

    Preferred Skills/Experience:

    + Master's degree in geotechnical engineering

    Other Requirements:

    + Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record, and credit check.

    + Ability to pass a pre-employment screening.

     

    The compensation range for this position is between $65,000 to $95,000 per year. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors.
