Job Description
Full-time position, Day shift, Monday thru Friday. Hybrid work schedule may be possible after 90 days
Pay: $25-$28 per hour

The Accounting Clerk II performs intermediate accounting functions for the Company, including processing of the payroll cycle, preparation of local and federal payroll and business tax returns, the cash disbursement cycle and monitoring of ageing schedules. In addition, it serves as a backup to other Finance Department personnel, including tasks related to product costing and data analysis, sales order entry, processing the cash receipts, reconciliations of general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers, and covering the reception desk duties.
This position will entail duties across multiple accounting functions within the major accounting cycles. The Accounting Clerk II may be cross trained in multiple accounting roles and be assigned as needed.
Requirements
Cash Disbursements Cycle
1. Processing vendor invoices for payment, including matching to purchase orders, verifying against appropriate paperwork and noting proper approvals. 2. Selecting which invoices are to be paid based on available cash flow. 3. Processing employee expense reimbursements, including matching to appropriate paperwork, and noting proper approvals. 4. Generating checks and preparing for signature. 5. Mailing payments to vendors.
6. Monitoring the accounts payable ageing and the accounts payable clearing schedules. 7. Reconciling with the general ledger. 8. Contact vendors with quantity or price discrepancies and resolving issues.
Payroll Cycle
9. Posting employee timecards or attendance records into the payroll system. 10. Calculating and posting overtime 11. Initiating the payroll calculations within the payroll system. 12. Printing payroll reports. 13. Generating payroll checks and preparing for signature. 14. Distributing and mailing payroll checks. 15. Ensuring voluntary and involuntary payroll deductions are being properly calculated and remitted in a timely manner. 16. Reconciling payroll records to the accounting system. 17. Preparation of local and federal payroll tax reports. 18. Work effectively with 401(k) Third Party Administrators to ensure the accurate and timely preparation of annual compliance testing and reporting.
Sales Order Entry
19. Downloading and printing customer Purchase Orders (PO) and customer Purchase Order Changes (POC). 20. Entering PO and POC data into the accounting system. 21. Making files for and filing POs and POCs 22. Resolving sales order processing discrepancies between the customers’ POs and our sales order records.
General
+ Reconciles other general ledger accounts with subsidiary ledgers.
+ Prepares journal entries as necessary.
+ Serves as a Receptionist including answering phones, sorting mail, and greeting and screening visitors.
+ Must be able to be cross trained to cover multiple functions in accounting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
1. Intermediate understanding of accounting and bookkeeping principles.
2. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. 3. Ability to memorize frequently used general ledger account numbers to quickly post transactions to the appropriate accounts. 4. Must be detail oriented. 5. Ability to accurately and efficiently read and compare numeric and alphanumeric data (i.e. match invoices to purchase orders to verify receipt and confirm prices match) to ensure the appropriate vendor was paid and the amount is correct.
6. Ability to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated. 7. Ability to communicate with coworkers and supervisor in a clear and precise style. 8. Ability to apply principles of logical thinking and exercise reasonable judgment.

Physical Job Requirements
1. Normal or correctable hearing. 2. Able to stand or sit for long periods of time. 3. Must have correctable vision to 20-20. 4. Ability to lift 20 lbs. either individually or with assistance.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Associate's degree in accounting. 2. Two years minimum experience in accounting or bookkeeping functions.
3. Demonstrated, efficient typing and 10-key data entry by touch. 4. Two years minimum experience in accounting or bookkeeping functions. 5. Demonstrated intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Windows.
Desirable Qualifications
Two years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
