    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:10 Month Position, Full Time

     

    STARTING DATE: September 2025

    SALARY RANGE:$48,500 - $78,642 per school year

    *Actual Salary Is Dependent Upon Education, Experience and Contract.

We are looking for a motivated and energetic person to serve as the assistant teacher for our Health Careers program.

    DUTIES:

    + Assist with instruction for high school students in a career and technical education program in Health Careers and prepare students for the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) exam.

    + Assist with implementing Individualized Educational Programs (IEP) to meet students’ needs.

    + Assist with overseeing all labs that provide high school students with hands-on, practical experience in CNA.

    + Assist with the implementation of curriculum according to New York State secondary school standards and New York State Department of Health (DOH).

    + Attend faculty and professional development meetings.

    + Assist with arranging for speakers, field trips, community service and shadowing experiences for students.

    + Work in a team environment that fosters the philosophy of collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to learning.

    + Effectively communicate with school staff, parents, districts, community agencies and the NYS DOH.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + NYS Registered Nurse (RN) certification required.

    + Must have or meet requirements for Civil Service title of School Nurse; Possession of a current New York State license as a School Nurse.

    + Minimum of two years of RN experience.

    + One year working in a nursing home or long-term care facility preferred.

    + Teaching Assistant certification must be obtained through the New York State Office of Teaching Initiatives within the guidelines for CTE certification, in collaboration with Human Resources. *See Certification Requirements below

    + Ability to work with high school students.

    + Experience with students with disabilities preferred.

    + Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
