Job Summary
Reporting to the Head STUNT and Cheer Coach, the Assistant Coach assists with directing all phases of the day-to-day operations of the Texas A&M University—Kingsville stunt and cheer programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant STUNT and Cheer Coach assists with directing all phases of the day-to-day operations of the Texas A&M University—Kingsville stunt and cheer programs, including but not limited to:
+ Effective coaching and student-athlete development;
+ Successfully recruit, retain, and graduating high-performing student-athletes;
+ Preparation, organization, design and implementation of effective practice plans, off-season programs, scouting reports, and recruiting systems;
+ Effective and timely budget management, equipment oversight, and travel planning;
+ Assist with team practices which include gameplay, stunting, tumbling, and other cheer-based skills.
+ Coordinate and assist in coverage for football games, basketball games, volleyball games, and other university events.
+ A commitment to community engagement, fundraising and effective public relations;
+ Adherence to NCAA II, Lone Star Conference, TAMUK and TAMUS policies.

Minimum RequirementsEducation - Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience – One year of college coaching and recruiting experience and/or experience at a highly competitive high school or club system.
Licenses/Certifications - Valid driver’s license; Valid certification in STUNT and current USA Cheer membership. Must be able to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Required Skills and Abilities
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Excellent communication, organizational, teaching, public relations, interpersonal, customer service and supervisory skills; Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

+ Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution
+ Three years of college coaching and recruiting experience and/or experience at a highly competitive high school or club system.
+ NCAA recruiting certification, CPR, First Aid, AED
Supervision of OthersThis position generally does not supervise employees.
