    Are you passionate about research in astronomy and physics? The Department of Astronomy and Physics at Texas A&M University is seeking multiple dedicated Postdoctoral Research Associates to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of the newly upgraded CMS detector, as well as the analysis of CMS data.     Opportunities to Contribute

    + In-depth analyses of CMS data.

    + Installation and commissioning of new upgraded CMS detector.

    + Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and through conference participation.

    + Active participation in departmental and collaborative committees.

    Qualifications

    + PhD in experimental particle physics

    A well-qualified candidate will also possess

    + Experience developing or commissioning detector hardware and electronics.

    + Data analysis at a major high energy physics experiment, analysis software development, statistical methods.

    + Computing and software skills in C++, python.

    + Understanding of computing software development in the HEP environment, familiarity with machine learning (ML) techniques and experience with using ML software packages (e.g. Keras, Pytorch, Tensorflow)

     

    Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience.

     

    Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.
