    Our client specializes in large, complex steel fabrications within the defense industry, and they are seeking a Materials Supervisor to join their team in Ladson, SC.

    Responsibilities

    + Coordinate activities of workers concerned with receiving, inventorying, picking, and preparing products for same day receiving and shipping both nationally and internationally.

    + Identify work procedures, prepare work schedules, and expedite workflow.

    + Issue written and oral instructions.

    + Examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to customer’s shipping and packaging requests and procedures.

    + Standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workers.

    + Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.

    + Ensure correct shipment of all jobs have been completely processed and verified accurate through quality.

    + Monitor material handlers, forklift drivers, and CDL drivers for productivity.

    + Constant communication with our suppliers and internal departments to ensure on time delivery.

    + Interaction with our vendors and the sales department to address their needs, inquiries and requests.

    + Ship priority jobs and ensure all necessary paperwork is shipped with all jobs.

    + Review and monitor production schedules for the most accurate results with consideration to capacity levels, efficiency, etc.

    + Reviewing and monitoring ordering systems and acting on order releases to meet our overall goal of customer satisfaction, while ensuring compliance with our company policy.

    + All other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    + Associates degree from an accredited college or university; and three to five years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Requires a minimum of 3 years of shipping/receiving experience or equivalent specialized training and/or work experience.

    + Must have a thorough knowledge of production control processes and procedures.

    + Must work in and develop a 5S environment.

    + Must have working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.

    + Ability to maneuver up to 200 lbs. independently.

    + Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without assistance.

    + Proven ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve their best.

    + Strong communication skills to ensure clarity and collaboration.

    + Experience in identifying and resolving problems quickly and efficiently.

    + A history of promoting a culture of learning, self-assessment, and development.

    + Must demonstrate honesty, reliability, and respect in all interactions.

    + Ability to deliver high-quality results efficiently.
