JOB SUMMARY of ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Adheres to Hospital’s Policies and Procedures and Philosophy of Care. Consistently exhibits professional conduct that is a behavior-based expression of the Hospital’s Standards of Excellence. Responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of the EvergreenHealth Monroe Diagnostic Imaging departments (Radiology, CT, MRI and Ultrasound) with the goal of achieving the highest level of quality, in service of our patients’ care and satisfaction, physician service and satisfaction and the department mission and purpose. Creates and builds positive relationships with customers and staff that utilize our collective expertise and technology in the most expeditious manner to accomplish a smooth efficient workflow throughout the department, accurately and on time. Assumes responsibility for maintenance of standards as applicable and development of innovative approaches toward improvement of services provided. Develops and institutes plans aimed at coordination of imaging services.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE; CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification required. Requires five (5) years of clinical experience as an imaging technologist, previous supervisory or leadership experience and current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Excellent communication or interpersonal skills. Prefer candidates with Bachelor’s degree.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT, SKILLS OR OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending and speaking English as required for business necessity. Accountable for HIPAA privacy and security standards within the department. Must possess basic skills to use Microsoft Office, specialized software and equipment. Must utilize EPIC and RIS/PACS
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND HAZARDS:
Adheres to all State and Federal regulations pertaining to hazardous materials and BBP. Risks to include exposure to communicable disease, hazardous substances, and risk of physical injury from lifting patients.
WORK CONTACT GROUP: All hospital departments, patients, physicians, visitors, staff and vendors.
SPECIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and transport and transfer patients. Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull. Walks, stands and sits for periods of time.

SUPERVISES: Radiology Technicians, Radiology Technologists, CT Technologists, Lead CT Technologist, Ultrasonographers and MRI Technologists.
Essential Functions/Technical
+ Provides supervision of clinical and clerical staff for 24/7 Diagnostic Imaging operation.
+ Hires high quality staff with the expectation of excellent customer service skills. Leads staff by example, reinforcing positive interactions. Progressively documents and follows up on unacceptable performance.
+ Works with staff to ensure engagement and ownership mentality. Performs daily rounding with staff; oversees morning and afternoon huddles; provides support and mentoring for staff. Assists with the creation of a working environment that enhances productivity and employee satisfaction.
+ Works with lead technologists to evaluate staff for technical competency.
+ Facilitates development of safety standards for service and quality when appropriate; evaluates department safety standards and policies on an ongoing basis. Ensures that patient safety remains foremost concern for employees.
+ Ensures that staff are up to date on their continuing education, CPR certification, LMS modules and licensure.
+ Ensures that the monthly QC process is completed, and that staff receive appropriate and constructive feedback.
+ Acts as a liaison between Radiologists and DI staff regarding operational issues.
+ Evaluates workflow and processes on an ongoing basis to minimize waste.
+ Effectively coordinates and prioritizes patient flow in the department, optimizing staff and supply resources.
+ Assists with expense monitoring and cost containment. Provides input for budgeting process, including requirements for staffing, operational and capital costs.
+ Creates and implements policies and procedures as needed.
+ Assists in ensuring that DI department meets local, state, federal and DOH and DNV requirements.
+ Understands and assists with ACR accreditation process for each modality.
+ Responsible for efficient and effective inventory control: purchasing, PAR level assignments, cost justification, appropriate screening of new products in coordination with the Radiologists, inventory tracking, etc.
+ Works with appropriate coding resources to ensure that CPT and exam documentation is correct for appropriate coding and billing of DI procedures.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
