    Responsibilities:

    Under the general supervision of the Director, Tax Reporting and Compliance, the Analyst is responsible for the timely filing of all federal, state, local income tax and state premium tax returns and corresponding tax payments in coordination with external tax consultants.;

     

    + Perform timely filing of all federal, state and local income tax and state premium tax returns, including tax coordination, planning, registration, correspondence, payment, research and resolution of issues. ;

    + Respond timely to all notices received from federal, state or local tax authorities.

    + Coordinate all new federal and state registrations with the Legal Department to ascertain whether tax nexus has been created and/or tax registration is required.

    + Prepare Medical Loss Ratio (MLR) Reporting tax calculations. ;;

    + Facilitate the dissemination of required financial information for tax return and monthly/quarter tax provision preparation to both internal contacts as well as external tax consultants. Ensure timely resolution of all requests/issues.

    + Implement new tax controls (as needed).

    + Identify tax impacts of new business (start-up, acquisitions, joint ventures, etc.), integrate such new business into existing tax processes, and resolve any tax related implementation issues.

    + Prepare tax related audit deliverables and manage the external/internal tax related audit request process to ensure timely and accurate accounting deliverables.

    + Identify process inefficiencies, recommend efficient process alternatives, and facilitate implementation of such process improvements.;

    Education/ Experience:

    + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar required.

    + Familiarity with Tax Provisions preferred.

    + Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint

    + Experience with PeopleSoft, Hyperion, Workiva, or similar ERP system preferred

    + Minimum 1 year progressive tax reporting and compliance experience preferred.
