Job Overview:

RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified Per Diem Ultrasound Technologist in Somerville, NJ

Qualifications:

Required:

+ High school graduate or equivalent required.

+ Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound School

+ CPR Maternal Fetal medicine experience required

+ Must be able to perform all Trimesters from first to third

+ Nucal Transulecy certifcation or eligibe required

Certifications and Licenses Required:

+ ARDMS Certification required

+ Must be CPR certified

Scheduling Requirements:

+ Day Shift

+ Per Diem

Essential Functions:

+ Screen requisitions to ensure proper exams are being ordered and proper prep is called to the Nurse taking care of the patient.

+ Ensure proper work flow is being maintained.

+ Maintain positive relationship between Radiologist and sonographers.

+ Assist Lead Technologist and Supervisor in the day to day operation.

+ Primary person ensuring proper steps are taken in the documentation process of ultrasound exams (tracking/dictation of exam in timely manner).

+ Initiate service calls and documents.

+ Train fellow sonographers and students with complex and/or new techniques.

+ Age-Specific Competency

+ Applies the knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan.

+ Applies the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served on his or her assigned unit, i.e. Infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.

+ Assesses data reflective of each patient s status and interprets information needed in order to identify each patient s age requirements relative to his or her age specific health care needs.

+ Abides by standards established by the hospital, state and federal regulatory agencies.

+ Assists supervisor with review of co-workers sonograms to ensure that they are following departmental policy. Provide a list of positives and negatives of the sonogram for educational purposes.
