    Position: Sales Manager - Battery Materials / Specialty Chemicals

     

    Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

     

    Travel: 35–60% domestic and international

    Overview:

    System One is assisting a global battery materials and specialty chemical company in hiring a Sales Managers to support its North American growth strategy. This position is a permanent, full-time opportunity based in The Woodlands, TX.

     

    The Sales Manager will lead business development and account strategy efforts across key automotive and Tier 1 manufacturing customers. This is a high-impact role responsible for expanding the company’s footprint in the North American battery market. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in chemical materials and experience managing large enterprise relationships across technical and commercial functions.

    Qualifications:

    + Master’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline

    + 5–8 years of technical B2B sales experience in the chemical materials or battery industry

    + Deep knowledge of electrolytes, lithium-ion battery systems, and OEM purchasing cycles

    + Proven track record of managing strategic accounts and closing large deals

    + Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills

    + Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional languages, especially mandarin is an added plus, but this role works with the American market primarily

    + Willingness to travel extensively (50%+), including regular domestic trips and international events

    + Experience in green hydrogen, ammonia, or related specialty chemical markets is a plus

    Responsibilities:

    + Own and drive account strategy, relationship management, and revenue growth with key OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers

    + Translate customer needs into actionable internal plans across sales, technical, and R&D teams

    + Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and commercial planning

    + Prepare and deliver technical sales presentations and proposals

    + Maintain regular in-person engagement with clients through site visits, meetings, and presentations

    + Monitor market trends and identify business development opportunities

    + Collaborate cross-functionally to support new product introductions and customer onboarding

    + Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, reporting, and market intelligence

    + Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences

    + Act as the internal advocate for customer needs, ensuring alignment between customer expectations and business objectives
