-
Our mission is to help Bloomberg build the right products—faster, smarter, and with greater impact—so we can continue to thrive in a complex, constantly evolving world. As coaches, we provide product expertise, tailored coaching experiences, and active listening to help leaders and teams adopt an effective product operating model grounded in shared outcomes, collaboration, and continuous learning.
The Product Coaching team is dedicated to strengthening product and leadership practices across Bloomberg. We offer coaching, facilitate targeted workshops, and help foster a culture of evidence-based, outcome-driven product thinking. This role will work with leaders in the CTO office and their Engineering and Product counterparts. The CTO office is part ideas incubator, part research house, part product factory. They envision, design, and prototype next-generation infrastructure, hardware, and software applications that interface with every aspect of our company.
We’re hiring a Product Coach to help scale and deepen our coaching impact across the organization. You will work with cross-functional teams to drive impact, efficiency, and collaboration throughout the product lifecycle. As part of a growing coaching team, you’ll also help shape our own strategy, develop insights, and grow our team.
We’ll trust you to:
- Coach individuals and teams, focusing on product competencies such as vision, outcome-driven roadmaps, decision-making strategies, experimentation, metrics, and stakeholder management to deliver exponentially impactful products
- Improve qualitative and quantitative client performance and influence via 1:1 coaching
- Facilitate and design dynamic workshops with cross-functional teams while practicing a wide breadth of product and coaching expertise
- Translate complex coaching insights into clear, actionable insights and guidance for teams and leaders
- Apply product thinking to micro and macro problems
- Assess product delivery maturity in place at all levels of leadership, educating and coaching to identify trends and opportunities for systematic improvement
- Collaborate with the broader coaching team to develop insights, metrics of success, hypotheses, strategic documentation, coaching resources, and workshops
- Contribute to a growing vision and strategy for the coaching team that drives the mission and vision of the company at large
- Use deep listening and expert analytical skills to drive strategic decision on behalf of clients and the coaching team
- Balance structure and flexibility—bringing rigor without overprescribing, and adapting to the unique dynamics of each team
- Be highly organized and considered in capturing detail
You’ll need to have:
- 8+ years of experience as a product leader
- 3+ years of experience in team development or coaching
- Ability to build trust with senior executives, product managers and cross-functional teams
- Product expertise across the product development lifecycle
- Superb communication skills including front of room leadership, executive stakeholder management, marketing and presentation skills, written and verbal pitches
- Hands on experience launching new products, evolving legacy products, transforming teams, and working with executive leadership
- Prioritization of momentum over perfection, with a deep understanding of effective processes and the ability to apply frameworks and methodologies to address specific problems (OKRs, Journey Mapping, etc.)
- Ability to use best practices to develop bespoke solutions
- Experience collaborating and problem solving with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, program management, data, sales, and design
- High capacity for collaboration and open communication
- A learning mindset
- A proven ability to navigate and influence within both high-growth and legacy environments
We’d love to see:
- A systems thinker
- Coaching training or certification (ICF)
- Experience working with product transformations at large technology companies
- Experience in startup and/or dynamic growth environments
- Ability to build a culture that practices empathy, fosters accountability and empowers diverse points of view
