Job Title: Mechanical Assembler
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and highly mechanical Custom Truck Build Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing hydraulic systems, welding on steel and aluminum, and reading electrical schematics to build and repair custom trucks designed for train track operations. This role requires a strong ability to interpret blueprints and schematics to ensure precise and high-quality custom builds and assemblies.
Responsibilities
+ Install hydraulic systems on custom-built trucks.
+ Perform welding on steel and aluminum components.
+ Read and interpret electrical schematics to complete wiring tasks.
+ Assemble and repair custom-built rear ends and beds for trucks.
+ Ensure all custom builds meet the required specifications and quality standards.
+ Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
Essential Skills
+ Proven experience in installing hydraulic systems and welding on steel and aluminum.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
+ Must own a majority of the following tools: sockets, universal joints, toolbox or roller cart, test/work light, 1/2 inch air impact (or battery powered) wrench, 3/8 inch air impact (or battery powered) wrench, screwdrivers.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in a specialty shop is preferred.
+ Being a student of the game will be important.
+ Welding experience or fabricating is preferred.
+ Proficiency in hand and power tools, electrical assembly.
+ Mechanics, diesel mechanics, engine repair, stripping of wires, installing pumps, assemblers.

Work Environment
Work in a garage-type setting similar to a local mechanic shop but with large semi-tractors and Ford F-550s. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm, with potential for occasional overtime. Ramp season occurs in Q2, requiring additional hours.

This is a Contract position based out of New Century, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
