Job Title: Specimen Processing TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Specimen Processing Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate preparation, handling, and processing of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be crucial in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare and handle laboratory specimens for analysis and testing, including aliquot and pour offs.

+ Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas.

+ Accurately identify and label specimens.

+ Pack and ship specimens to the proper testing departments.

+ Meet department activity and production goals.

+ Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples.

+ Enter patient information accurately and timely into the data system.

+ Resolve and document any issues that arise during the specimen processing.

Essential Skills

+ High School Diploma or equivalent.

+ No relative experience required; 1-2 years preferred.

+ Comfortable handling biological specimens.

+ Ability to accurately identify specimens.

+ Experience working in a team environment.

+ Strong data entry and organizational skills.

+ High level of attention to detail.

+ Proficiency in MS Office.

+ Ability to lift up to 30lbs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Previous medical or production experience is a plus.

Work Environment

This position works Tuesday to Saturday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute break for lunch. The dress code includes solid-colored scrubs or jeans and a plain t-shirt, comfortable closed-toed shoes, and a mask. A lab coat will be provided. You will work on a team of 20 accessioners in a corporate center that offers significant internal growth and opportunity. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
