Job Title: Tool & Die Repairer
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Tool and Die Maker who will be responsible for the repair, construction, and maintenance of progressive tungsten carbide lamination stamping dies and metal forming dies. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with production standards and safety regulations to produce the highest quality parts. With an in-depth knowledge of metalwork and engineering, the candidate must possess a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate ideas that positively impact the stamping manufacturing process. Proficiency in building fixtures, reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics is essential. Adherence to policies and procedures, including safety training and the use of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, face shields, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes, is required.
Responsibilities
+ Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings.
+ Visualize and compute metal shapes and tolerances.
+ Design jigs and templates to support the fabrication of parts.
+ Set up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines.
+ Cut and shape blocks to specified dimensions.
+ Grind carbide and steel to ensure a smooth finish.
+ Assemble and disassemble tools and die parts to support production areas, ensuring timely repairs and continuous production.
+ Inspect tools and dies for defects, perform repairs, and conduct test runs.
+ Support continuous improvement programs and KAIZEN initiatives.
+ Contribute to tooling efficiency improvement and scrap reduction projects.
+ Follow standard operating procedures for die repairs.
+ Enter data into SAP.
Essential Skills
+ 10 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker.
+ Experience in progressive stamping operations, with a preference for carbide lamination dies.
+ Extensive experience with metalworking tools, including drills, milling machines, grinders, and lathes.
+ In-depth knowledge of troubleshooting in die operation and assembly.
+ Ability to lift heavy objects and handle carbide tooling.
+ Experience in quality control analysis.
+ Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and height gauges.
+ Excellent attention to detail.
+ Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to detect potential issues proactively.
+ Strong communication skills and experience working in teams.
+ Ability to work autonomously and collaborate with engineers and machinists.
+ Proven mathematical ability using geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Manual machining experience.
+ Experience in die maintenance, die repair, blueprint reading, repair, manual machining, tool and die, welding, and CNC machining.

Work Environment
The work environment includes a manufacturing setting that requires adherence to safety protocols. Employees are expected to wear appropriate personal protective equipment such as hard hats, face shields, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe shoes. We are hiring for 4 second-shift positions and 3 third-shift positions.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St. Louis, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $45.00/hr.
