    Job Title: Buyer - Outside Processing Specialist

    Job Description

    The Outside Processing Buyer/ Specialist (Levels I, II, III) plays a crucial role in managing purchasing functions related to Outside Processing within a dynamic aerospace environment. This role includes vendor management, purchase order creation, cost management, logistics coordination, and compliance oversight. The position supports cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient flow of parts through outside processors while meeting cost, schedule, and compliance objectives. From entry-level to sr positions, the Specialist is integral in achieving production and estimating goals, contributing significantly to the company's operational success.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage purchase orders and vendor communications.

    + Oversee supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of processed parts.

    + Independently handle procurement tasks and negotiate pricing.

    + Input, update, and manage purchasing data in MRP/ERP systems.

    + Ensure compliance with aerospace standards through accurate documentation handling.

    + Utilize Microsoft Office tools for tracking orders, communication, and data analysis.

    + Interact with vendors and cross-functional teams to manage documentation.

    + Prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage part flow efficiently.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in purchasing, order processing, and vendor management.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

    + Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems.

    + Strong verbal and written communication skills.

    + Effective time management skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.

    + Knowledge of special processing certifications such as NADCAP.

    + Exposure to invoice and purchase order reconciliation.

    + Advanced negotiation skills.

    + Experience with strategic sourcing initiatives.

    Work Environment

    This is a full-time, onsite position located in Chatsworth, California, with standard hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, offering some flexibility. The work setting includes significant time in a machine shop, where conditions may vary from hot to cold and include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and coolant vapors. Industry-standard safety equipment is provided. The company promotes a collaborative and supportive culture with a strong emphasis on mentorship and professional development. High ethical standards are maintained, ensuring a respectful work environment. Safety gear is required due to the machine shop environment, and professional attire suitable for aerospace manufacturing is expected.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $38.00/hr.
