Job Title: Product Designer/Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description
As a Product Designer, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely product designs using SolidWorks 3D software. You will design based on customer specifications and custom quotes from the field. Your role includes designing new products and continuously improving the design of existing equipment, ensuring cost-effective solutions. Additionally, you will serve as a liaison between fabrication and assembly to resolve any issues that surface.
Responsibilities
+ Create product designs using SolidWorks 3D software.
+ Design products based on customer specifications and custom quotes.
+ Develop new products and improve existing equipment designs.
+ Ensure designs are cost-effective.
+ Serve as a liaison between fabrication and assembly to resolve issues.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D software.
+ Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Drafting, Design, or Mechanical/Ag Engineering.
+ 3D modeling and design experience.
+ Mechanical aptitude, especially within automotive or agricultural vehicles.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with other 3D software like pro/e or Inventor.
+ Hands-on experience with sheet metal products.
+ 2D and 3D skills with AutoCAD/SolidWorks.
+ Interest in automotive work, engine repair, etc.
+ Strong communication and presentation skills.
Work Environment
This position is located at a modern product development team within a large manufacturing facility with about 3,000 employees. The team comprises detailers, drafters, designers, project engineers, supervisors, and support staff. There are onsite dining options and nearby local eateries. The company is family-oriented with a history of over 150 years, offering a positive work atmosphere and low turnover.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $28.84/hr.
