    Job Title: Tool Room Supervisor

    Job Description

    The Tool Room Supervisor is responsible for enhancing the performance of stamping tools to increase productivity and reduce waste. This role involves coordinating all tool room resources, both equipment and personnel, to ensure the efficient and timely functioning of tools while maintaining high-quality standards. The supervisor will also establish best practices, mentor the team, and collaborate with other departments to improve stamping operations.

    Responsibilities

    + Create and implement strategies, policies, and best practices to enhance operational performance.

    + Supervise Production and Maintenance Departments during the 2nd shift.

    + Support the Annealing Department to ensure on-time delivery compliance.

    + Manage Kronos and other HR-related tasks to support employees.

    + Set department objectives, support plant KPIs, and conduct performance reviews with root cause analysis.

    + Ensure the tool room operates safely and meets health, safety, and environmental standards.

    + Organize tooling spares and maintain tool room equipment in optimal operating conditions.

    + Provide quotations for new tooling modifications and repairs.

    + Communicate weekly with all shifts and levels within the organization.

    + Offer technical expertise to the production team and foster a positive work environment.

    + Purchase parts for repairs and perform die servicing.

    + Prepare and manage the annual tooling budget and lead capital expenditure projects.

    + Oversee contractors and installations of tool room equipment.

    + Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

    + Manage cost savings, productivity, scrap reduction, and standardization projects.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong supervisory skills.

    + Experience with tool and die, CNC machining, and production supervision.

    + Proficiency in SAP ERP and KPI management.

    + Experience with lathe and mill operations.

    + Proficiency in timekeeping software and process improvement.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.

    + Experience with progressive stamping operations and carbide lamination dies is preferred.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience leading projects in a manufacturing environment.

    + At least 3 years of experience managing tool makers and tool room equipment.

    + Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    + Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    + Excellent leadership and communication abilities.

    + Self-starter with the ability to prioritize, organize responsibilities, and perform well under pressure.

    + Experience in developing employee training programs.

The tool room is equipped with advanced machinery, such as CNC machines, lathes, and mills, providing a hands-on experience.     This is a Contract position based out of St. Louis, Missouri.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
