Job Title: Software Development EngineerJob Description
This role involves utilizing network topology understanding and experience in Software Defined Networking and network operations to collaborate with the Kuiper network team. The objective is to develop APIs and other enabling interface software tailored to meet unique customer needs. You will demonstrate the capabilities of the interfaces and architectures you define in a simulated test environment that you help develop. The position requires solving complex technical problems related to the use of the Kuiper constellation for government customers as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities
+ Lead internal and vendor teams to develop and deliver software and interface requirements.
+ Ensure systems meet performance needs including availability, reliability, upgradeability, interoperability, and security requirements.
+ Effectively communicate project health, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management teams.
+ Escalate urgent issues appropriately and drive them to closure in a timely manner.
+ Provide visualizations, document results, and communicate them across multi-disciplinary project teams.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in AWS, Java, Rust, React, Python, Kotlin, and C++.
+ Experience with cloud or networking.
+ 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
+ 5+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
+ Experience programming in Python, Rust, or C++.
+ 5+ years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
+ Software defined networking experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to write code in AWS using Python, Kotlin, or Rust.
Work Environment
This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, provided the candidate is willing to support PST hours. The team is engaged in writing services in AWS to build out all of Kuiper's systems for customers at the cloud level, enhancing the features available to customers.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $95.00/hr.
