Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator
Job Site Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Job Description
As a Scraper Operator, you will be responsible for cutting to grade, which involves driving across terrain to scrape the earth into a holding bowl for removal or relocation. The objective is to level the terrain, preparing it for the Finish Dozer operators to fine-grade to completion. Working hours are from 6 am to 6 pm, Monday through Friday, with potential Saturday work depending on workload and weather conditions. You will also be accountable for conducting both pre-inspection and end-of-day inspection of the machinery and reporting any concerns to management.
Responsibilities
+ Operate heavy equipment, specifically CAT Challenger Pull Scrapers and Quadtrac Scrapers.
+ Perform cutting to grade, evenly leveling the terrain.
+ Conduct pre-inspection and end-of-day inspection of the equipment.
+ Report any mechanical concerns or issues to management promptly.
+ Ensure professional conduct and appearance according to the site’s code of conduct.
+ Communicate effectively and maintain awareness of surroundings to ensure safety.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience operating scrapers on a commercial job site.
+ Ability to operate heavy equipment such as CAT Challenger Pull Scrapers and Quadtrac Scrapers.
+ Experience in commercial construction, civil construction, grading, and earthwork.
+ Strong commitment to safety and ability to follow OSHA standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Valid driver's license is preferred but not required.
+ Candidates with the ability to be insured to operate company vehicles will have more opportunities for travel to different job sites.

Work Environment
You will work on a civil construction site, predominantly in wide-open spaces that were formerly farmland. The role demands strict adherence to safety protocols as per OSHA standards, and there will be significant activity requiring excellent communication and situational awareness. Professional attire and behavior are mandatory, consistent with the site's code of conduct.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, Nebraska.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
