Responsibilities

This position is for Pactiv Evergreen Inc.

Summary:

This role oversees all packaging with essential duties that include inspecting, packing, stacking and wrapping pallets. In this role, you will ensure that all product meets quality standards.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

The essential functions of this position include, but not limited to:

+ Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standard levels of operation, including waste, quality, efficiency, and utilization

+ Troubleshoot, identify, and correct machine-related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine

+ Provide innovative solutions for production issues

+ Provides support and guidance to less experienced personnel

+ Completes appropriate end-of-shift paperwork, accounting for crewing time, machine time, and production quantities

+ Able to inspect and recognize defective product and make machine adjustments to correct cause of defects

+ Observes all housekeeping, standard work and safety guidelines

+ Mechanical aptitude, demonstrated problem solving skills and effective communication skills - written and verbal are required

Qualifications

Requirements:

+ Manual Dexterity

+ Excellent communication skills

+ Detailed record keeping per the prescribed frequency

+ Hand/eye coordination

+ Analytical skills

+ Math Skills (calculators to determine and record production data)

+ Basic troubleshooting skills to resolve minor machine issues relating to its operation

+ Understanding of production measurement tools such as level, etc.

+ Knowledge of product quality standards

+ Principles of Thermoforming machines

Physical Requirements/ Environmental/ Working Conditions:

+ Must be able to constantly stand, walk, use hands, and arms

+ Must be able to occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs

+ Must frequently be able to bend at the waist/ hips

+ Constantly required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

+ Constantly required reaching away from the body and frequently reaching overhead

+ Ability to keep up with a machine conveyor line

+ Able to work in differing temperatures

+ Must be able to work 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as required

The plant was built in 1967 and manufactures polystyrene foam containers, and has approximately 370 Pactiv employees.
