Job Description:

Basic Function

Participate as a Business Intelligence Developer to enhance our data analytics capabilities in Power BI and manage our data warehouse. Data warehouse management will consist of SQL server administration and ETL development (Currently SSIS). Must be comfortable working with non-IT colleagues to understand their requirements and translate them to technical specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Manage and Maintain the Datawarehouse platform including its ETL processes and ensure a high level of user satisfaction.

+ Collaborate with non-IT professions to capture requirements and translate them into meaningful Power BI reports.

+ Troubleshoot data related issues by working with both IT and non-IT professionals to determine the root cause and provide solutions.

+ Utilize advanced Power BI tools such as Dax, Power Query, and Python.

+ Write and optimize complex SQL queries.

+ Lead efforts to migrate reports done in QlikView and other tools to Power BI.

+ Research and encourage the use of modern BI tools such as Azure Data Factory and Fabric.

+ Establish a governance model for our Power BI workspaces, data sources, and on-premises data gateways.

+ Monitor and maintain our Microsoft SQL server environment (6 servers).

+ Assist application developers with troubleshooting SQL related issues in other applications.

+ Ensure our data is safe by implementing security best practices in both Power BI and MS SQL Server.

Education and Experience

+ BS in Information Systems or Computer Science

+ 3 - 5 plus years of experience required.

+ Extensive hands-on experience with Power BI

+ Proficiency in SQL.

+ Experience managing Microsoft SQL Servers.

+ Experience designing data processes including loading, transformations, mapping, etc.
