**The** **Role:** Senior Energy Modeler
The Team:
This role sits in the S&P Global Commodity Insights, Energy Scenarios modelling team. This is a well-established team responsible for producing the data sets used in the Integrated Energy Scenarios (IES) and other consulting activities. This person will be responsible for working with their other members of the team to manage the scenario models: recalibration, new model developments as well as running and maintaining the models to produce the outlook for the IES. This person will also support a portfolio of consulting engagements where the team produces bespoke scenarios and associated analytics for clients and support them throughout the year for their bespoke needs.
The model captures energy demand, supply and trade actions under different policy landscapes for 118 countries along with regional aggregates and the world. The service includes the model outputs alongside periodical analytics, sensitivity visuals and scenario manager functionality. It includes the full energy balances and GHG emissions for multiple sectors and fuels, over short-, medium-, and long-term timeframe (out to 2060). The model uses an internally developed demand solver and Gurobi for supply and trade solves.
